Daniella Westbrook seeking legal action against Gogglebox star over remarks about her past

Daniella Westbrook has found herself in a particularly tough situation after it appeared the show Gogglebox made a cruel joke at her expense.

If you’re unfamiliar, the UK reality show features members of different families as they react to scenes from TV shows. It has run on Channel 4 since its debut in 2013.

It’s believed that one the original families, the Siddiqui crew, recently poked fun at Daniella for her past drug addiction.

According to Yorkshire Live, the joke in question occurred when Baasit asked in a would-you-rather game: “Would you rather have just one giant nostril or would you like to have just one giant eye?”

Apparently, Bassit was referring to Daniella’s damaged nostrils, which was a result of her cocaine use back in the 1990s. Although this might seem like a stretch, viewers who were at home watching took to social media to complain about the dig.

And it looks like viewers aren’t the only ones who are mad. Daniella Westbrook herself took to Twitter to weigh in on the comments, writing in the span of multiple tweets:

"Thanks you every1 for the support u gave me about the derogatory comments @Channel4 allowed the siddiqui family too make . My manager is seeking legal advice , as trolling is not Something we should take lightly. And I for one am in shock that @Tanialalexander allowed that to make the edit. The show has always been a favorite of myself & my family, was a real shame that we had to witness such cruel comments on world kindness day."

It looks like Daniella has plenty of fans to back her up, but a joke like that must really sting if it was truly directed at her. Drug addiction and abuse is obviously nothing to make light of, and we hope the former EastEnders star is able to forgive and forget.
