A breakdown of the live TV ratings for Monday, Nov. 16

Monday fall TV returned on CBS on Nov. 16, giving us almost a normal night. Here’s a look at the live TV ratings for the entire night.

The only network that still doesn’t have quite a normal lineup is The CW. We’re still waiting for Black Lightning and All American to return in January 2021, so it’s a night of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Penn & Teller: Fool Us.

Both shows performed exceptionally well, continuing to prove they need to be part of The CW’s lineup. These shows are not going anywhere.

CBS lineup returns with mixed results

When it comes to the CBS premieres, there were mixed results in the live TV ratings. The Neighborhood kicked off the night coming second in the total audience and joint first in the demo. That was despite the demo being down 2% from the Season 2 premiere.

More from Ratings

That dip in the demo is nothing. With the positive start, there are some high hopes for The Neighborhood.

Bob Hearts Abishola was down by 5% in the audience and 19% in the demo compared to the previous premiere. However, keep in mind that the previous premiere was a series premiere. Those numbers are usually higher than everything else.

When looking at the Bob Hearts Abishola Season 1 ratings, the numbers ticked up throughout the course of the first season. There is a good chance the same happens with Season 2 as fans realize the series is back. The numbers were still good up against the competition, so there are high hopes.

All rise was down 23% in the audience and 13% in the demo compared to the first season premiere. The audience was down compared to the finale but the demo was up. We’re on the fence about this show, which was on the bubble last season, too.

Then there was Bull finishing off the night with a 23% drop in the audience and 27% drop in the demo compared to the previous premiere. The numbers were also down compared to the finale. It’s another show that was on the bubble, but it did outperform The Good Doctor in the total audience, which will be a good sign for the series.

ABC, FOX, and NBC in the live TV ratings

We’re not paying a close eye on FOX since Filthy Rich is canceled. LA’s Finest is the one to pay the closest attention to right now. Spectrum has canceled the show, but there was hope FOX might save it. That’s not likely the case as it fell again in both the demo and live audience.

It was a night of reality/game programming for NBC. Things started with The Voice, which dipped another 6% in the audience and 15% in the demo compared to the previous Monday episode. However, the audience won the night overall and the demo was joint first with The Neighborhood. I doubt there’s anything to be concerned about when it comes to the singing competition.

Weakest Link held steady in the demo but was down 11% in the total audience. The show isn’t holding up against the return of scripted dramas on other networks, but then we don’t usually see game shows this time of year. NBC is just holding out, and I think Weakest Link will stick around for the off-season programming when game shows perform better.

ABC started the night with Dancing with the Stars, which was down 6% in the audience and 11% in the demo. It was behind The Voice and The Neighborhood in both metrics and also behind Bob Hearts Abishola in the audience. The numbers are still good enough for a renewal, though.

The Good Doctor slipped by 11% in the audience and 16% in the demo. It matched Bull‘s demo but was second in the timeslot in the audience. Usually, the series would outperform Bull in the audience, which could be worrisome for the series. However, the delayed start for all shows is definitely having an effect on everything.

We’re not calling anything about The Good Doctor yet.
