Jenelle Evans hits back after she’s accused of refusing to wear a face mask
Jenelle Evans is clapping back at recent accusations. The former Teen Mom 2 star found herself in a bit of hot water after she promoted a face mask company called Linked Wear on Instagram. According to The Sun, many people on Reddit argued that she was a hypocrite for trying to make money off of the products, even though she allegedly won’t wear a mask herself.
As we all know, face masks have become very crucial during the pandemic, as it keeps you as safe as you can be in the public from potentially sick people. Even if COVID-19 wasn’t a huge threat, face masks are a great way to keep germs away. Many companies have begun profiting off the accessory, selling their own versions of face masks.
When Jenelle Evans seemingly tried to make a quick buck by sharing a sponsored post to her Instagram Story, however, people weren’t pleased.
The general consensus, apparently, is that Jenelle refuses to wear face masks. As reported by Showbiz Cheat Sheet, the former MTV star did seemingly poke fun at people who choose to be safe by wearing a mask back in July.
Jenelle has even been labeled an “anti-masker” during the pandemic, and now, she’s speaking out against all of the criticism. Taking to Twitter, the mom-of-three quote-tweeted an article from Monsters and Critics, writing:
"Let’s report the TRUTH. I NEVER said I don’t wear masks. I actually do… in every store I enter. My daughter will not wear one because she is under 5 years old and in NC they don’t have to. #FakeNews."
She then went on in another tweet to claim:
"If you HAVE TO KNOW, I always have a fresh box of face masks in my car ready to go. Where did I say I don’t wear a mask? Y’all make some drama out of NOTHING."
Adding onto her series of tweets, Jenelle Evans added that The Sun is “NOT a reliable source,” and even slammed the fact that the publication takes quotes from Reddit users in their stories.
Jenelle ended her tweet spree by declaring that she’s “focusing on family and never been happier.” Good for her, if that’s true! All we can hope is that she actually does wear a face mask, and encourages her family to do the same. With COVID-19 cases far from slowing down in the United States, it’s the most important thing she can do right now.
