The Masked Singer lands fifth season from FOX
The Masked Singer Season 5 is officially happening on FOX
There is some news that surprises nobody at all. That’s the case with the latest renewal news. The Masked Singer Season 5 is officially happening.
While it’s not surprising news, it’s good news. There’s nothing better than knowing your favorite reality show has been picked up. I know my kids will be more than happy to know there will be another season of the masked singing competition.
The news comes ahead of the two-hour Season 4 semi-finals that airs on Dec. 2. The following will week will see the finale, and we’ll get to know who will be crowned winner. Past winners are T-Pain, Wayne Brady, and Kandi Burress.
When will The Masked Singer Season 5 premiere?
With everything going on, the one thing on your mind is whether The Masked Singer Season 5 will be able to film anytime soon. The good news is this is one of those shows that can film well during a pandemic, as the fourth season has shown. It can film in a bubble, keeping everyone safe but keeping the same feeling for viewers.
The Masked Singer Season 5 is set to premiere sometime in 2021, according to TVLine. FOX will likely keep it as part of the fall lineup.
During the 2019-2020 season, two seasons ran back-to-back. It certainly helped to bring some entertainment at the start of the pandemic, but there isn’t going to be a season this winter. FOX pushed a lot of fall programming to winter 2021.
We could see that change for the 2021-2022 season since fall programming should hopefully get back to normal. One thing that will likely remain the same is that the show will air on Wednesday nights. Why “fix” something that isn’t broken?
