A breakdown of the broadcast live TV ratings for Monday, Dec. 7

Monday night TV didn’t look as it normally does on Dec. 7. What would that mean for the live TV ratings? Let’s take a look inside the night.

Monday Night Football aired on ABC. While it would usually be the top performer of the night, it was second highest in the demo throughout the night and third-best in the total audience.

Non-scripted won during Monday, Dec. 7. I Can See Your Voice got a Monday night special due to The Masked Singer‘s two-hour episode last week, pulling in its largest demo and audience of the entire series so far.

This is great news for the series, which will more than likely be renewed. Will it mean a change in programming next season? Possibly not considering 9-1-1 usually performs exceptionally well on Monday nights. We’ll have to see how 9-1-1 Season 4 performs when it premieres.

The Voice, Bob Hearts Abishola, and more in the live TV ratings

FOX didn’t just benefit from moving I Can See Your Voice to Monday this week. It also benefitted from airing a new episode of Cosmos: Possible Worlds. However, the upward ticks may not be enough to save the series as the metrics are still low for FOX.

The Voice was just behind I Can See Your Voice in the audience. However, it and the demo dropped compared to the previous Monday episode. This probably isn’t anything to worry about this season, but it’s something NBC will want to keep an eye on.

The Voice was the lead-in for Nurses, the new Canadian medical drama acquisition, but the results were just okay. With 3.65 million people tuning in and a 0.4 demo rating, things aren’t great. However, this is an acquisition mostly due to pandemic programming, so it could work out well for the summer months.

CBS had a night of new episodes and reruns. The new episodes were mixed, with The Neighborhood and All Rise down. Bob Hearts Abishola was steady in the demo and up in the audience. There’s nothing overly concerning about the two comedies just yet, but All Rise‘s drop is a concern. Will CBS give it a little leeway this year?
