HBO Max: Warner Bros. 2021 movie release schedule
By Dan Girolamo
Warner Bros. will release all of its 2021 films in both theaters and on HBO Max. Here are the premiere dates for each!
The entire film industry is about to change in 2021. In a landmark decision, Warner Bros. will stream its entire film slate for 2021 on HBO Max. However, the movies will also play in theaters simultaneously. Where will you be watching?
There are certain conditions to this game-changing decision. Each new movie on HBO Max will be available for one month only before leaving the service. After one month, the movie will only be in theaters. Then, it will be available to purchase or rent via on-demand.
Eventually, the film will end up back on HBO Max at a later date. It’s a revolutionary move many are divided about.
Once Warner Bros. elected to release Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters and on HBO Max this Christmas, it was only a matter of time before movies from the 2021 slate adopted the same model. Although this release schedule is for 2021 only, it’s possible that this distribution strategy could become permanent, and not temporary, in the future.
Including Wonder Woman 1984, 18 Warner Bros. movies originally scheduled for theatrical releases will be streamed directly to HBO Max. These films range from big-budget blockbusters to Oscar contenders. Below is the list of Warner Bros. movies and their release dates.
