Whether you are sick of Christmas music, decorations, and the jolly spirit or are simply a horror fan who enjoys scares no matter what time of year it is, Anything for Jackson on Shudder is calling your name!
I’ll be honest, I’m all about Christmas! I love the holiday season and look forward to it each year. However, it’s safe to say that we are all feeling a little different in the year 2020. Though I’m not ignoring the holiday completely, I do feel a bit like the Grinch at times.
That said, I’ve been into crime documentaries and horror movies more than usual since Thanksgiving. So when Shudder reached out to me about giving Anything for Jackson a look, I was happy to.
Do I have any regrets? Is it scarier than I anticipated? Do I recommend it to a fellow Grinch or horror fan? No, yes, and definitely!
What is Anything for Jackson about?
The movie Anything for Jackson follows Henry and Audrey, an older couple who are grieving and struggling with the loss of their grandson, Jackson. In an attempt to have Jackson back, Henry and Audrey kidnap a pregnant woman to perform a Satanic ritual that promises to put Jackson’s spirit into the woman’s unborn child.
Quickly after their attempt at the ritual, Henry and Audrey realize they summoned more than they bargained for, accidentally releasing many spirits, none with good intentions.
Should you watch Anything for Jackson?
At first glance, I was very intrigued by the movie description. It’s not a plot that has been repeatedly done, so it seemed unique enough to grab my attention. And I’m aware of Shudder’s stellar reputation of having some of the best the horror genre has to offer.
I’m happy to report that the movie exceeded my expectations. Now, is that a good thing? Sort of. It depends on how much horror you can handle.
If you tend to stay away from scary movies, I can’t recommend this. Your innocence must be protected. Nightmares are guaranteed.
However, if you handle horror well or are at least a casual horror fan, you have to watch this movie! Anything for Jackson has plenty of surprises, chills, and gore to keep you at the edge of your seat!
To escape the holiday cheer, watch Anything for Jackson. The movie will make you forget Christmas is around the corner and wake you up from a sluggish, depressing season.
