Grey Sloan Memorial reached surge capacity on Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 6

As the pandemic continues to get worse in the world of Grey’s Anatomy, the hospital reaches surge capacity. It’s time to look at the WTF moments from Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 6.

There were highs and lows in the episode. It picked up with the Station 19 storyline of the two girls brought in after being kidnapped, but there was a lot more going on throughout the episode. And it’s hard to cope with the idea that the show is now off until March 2021.

Here’s a look at the five biggest WTF moments from Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 6.

Teddy reaching breaking point

With Seattle Press no longer having space, more patients were going to Grey Sloan Memorial. The hospital was at surge capacity, meaning residents now had to work on COVID patients and the cafeteria was being turned into a new place for extra beds.

Teddy was short with everyone throughout the episode. She has reached breaking point. And it’s no surprise. All doctors are handling the pandemic differently, but they all have someone to talk to except Teddy. She’s alone, and Webber points out, that’s her own doing.

In the end, she tries to put out an olive branch, but it isn’t enough. What’s going to happen to Teddy when Grey’s Anatomy returns?

Koracick terrified of death

Sometimes, it’s hard to feel for Koracick. He’s not great with people, but he does have a heart. When his roommate dies of COVID-19, he asks for his surname so he can pray for his soul. It’s a touching moment that reminds us of the human that is in there somewhere.

He goes to see Meredith for a bit. Her getting better gives him some hope that he can fight off COVID. He admits that he’s surrounded by death and he’s scared. How is he going to react when he learns about what has happened to Meredith?

Winston turning up at Maggie’s door

Maggie and Winston have dealt with a long-distance relationship throughout Grey’s Anatomy so far. Things changed by the end of the episode.

After saying he was at the grocery story and quickly hanging up, things felt a little off. He doesn’t usually hang up like that. However, I love that Maggie didn’t get obsessive about that. She’s grown so much with this relationship, and I can only hope for great things moving forward.

At the end of Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 6, Maggie gets a knock at her hotel door. She’s expecting someone dropping things off for her, but Winston is at the door. The long-distance isn’t working and he’s here to see her.

Meredith helping a patient

When a patient in a room opposite starts coding with nobody around, Meredith does what she needs to. She goes into the room and starts CPR and gets the patient intubated.

While she manages to help, it’s not without its problems. Meredith collapses as she tries to get back to her own room.

Webber has to make a difficult decision. Her oxygen levels are low again and it’s time to talk about a vent. Bailey points out that Meredith never wanted this, but Webber says Meredith didn’t want it unless it was a last resort. This is where they are. Meredith goes on a vent.

The trafficker turning up

Maggie isn’t the only character who has grown considerably. DeLuca has also grown throughout Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, and this episode shows it. Bailey even comments on how proud she is that he is managing his mental illness and setting boundaries.

When the female trafficker turns up during the episode to see the guy who had kidnapped the two Black girls from Station 19, DeLuca immediately recognizes her. Carina is in the parking lot when he spots her. He isn’t going to let her go this time, and Carina isn’t letting him go alone.

We end Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 6 with the two rushing to Carina’s car to follow the woman. It’s time to get justice. Will this help with the arrests made at the end of Station 19?
