The Simpsons voice actress Nancy Cartwright is joining MasterClass.

The Simpsons fans will be able to learn about how one of the show’s favorite characters comes to life, as Nancy Cartwright is now teaching voice acting through MasterClass.

Cartwright, who voices Bart Simpson and a host of other supporting characters on the long-running FOX series, has partnered with the online platform to share her voice acting expertise through a new course that opens up today.

It’s an experience that will appeal to both The Simpsons enthusiasts and aspiring voice actors alike as she explains how she brings characters to life—and even creates new characters to show how her process works!

More from FOX

Cartwright won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1992 for voicing Bart Simpson, and was nominated twice more in the Outstanding Voice-Over Performance category in 2017 and 2020.

She also lends her talents to the characters of Nelson Muntz, Todd Flanders, and Ralph Wiggum, among others.

Outside of Springfield, her credits include Rufus in Kim Possible (for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award), Margo Sherman in The Critic, and the second Chuckie Finster on Rugrats.

If you’ve watched animation at all over the last few decades, you’ve heard Nancy Cartwright’s voice somewhere—and this is a chance to get a much better understanding of how she makes the magic that she does. Voice acting is an incredible craft that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, and Cartwright is giving audiences a peek behind the curtain from basic vocal techniques to figuring out characters.

Whether you want to pursue a career in voice acting, or just love animation and want to know more about how it’s made, the class is designed for total newcomers and more savvy viewers alike—and can be enjoyed from your own home and at your own pace through the MasterClass website.

Nancy Cartwright is the first voice actor to join MasterClass. The platform has offered acting classes from the likes of Helen Mirren and Natalie Portman, as well as a variety of other courses including Christina Aguilera and Usher (from NBC‘s The Voice), Gordon Ramsay (FOX’s MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen), and NBA star Stephen Curry.

The company offers an All-Access Pass that gives unlimited access to all of their courses for a flat $180/year rate, or fans can gift individual courses to friends and family for $90.
