Great news ahead, UK comedy fans! It looks like popular comedian Peter Kay is making his return to the BBC very, very soon.

As reported by Birmingham Live, the 47-year-old standup performer–who fans know has been missing in action for the past few years–will be involved in a new special coming to the British broadcast company. Kay will be joined by television presenter Cat Deeley to present a program on BBC Radio 2 in the new year!

Although Peter Kay has not publicly spoken on the new special, Deeley has shared how excited she is to make her BBC Radio 2 debut. You might know the 44-year-old presenter for her hosting job on SMTV Live, for which she has won a BAFTA Children’s Award. She’s also a host on the American competition show So You Think You Can Dance.

“I’m thrilled to be making my Radio 2 debut on Saturday January 2,” Deeley stated. “This time of year always fills us with love, hope and optimism, even if it looks a little different this year. We may not gather in the same ways or in the same places, but we are always together in our hearts.”

You can catch Kay and Deeley via BBC Radio 2 on Saturday, January 2.

It looks like despite his desire to stay out of the spotlight, Peter Kay is still finding creative ways to produce new content. As we previously reported, the famed comedian wrote a new Car Share sketch to be included in a book called Dear NHS: 100 Stories To Say Thank You, meant to honor the United Kingdom National Health Service.

And while he’s not on our screens any longer and we’re not seeing him do standup performances, Kay still has a very large net worth. This is thanks to, in part, his two companies, Good Night Vienna Productions Ltd and Hussein Traders Ltd. It looks like although the fan-favorite isn’t in front of the camera, he’s still managing to make some dough behind-the-scenes.

We’re looking forward to hearing Peter Kay in this new program to ring in 2021!
