Can Falista be trusted with the power of the Red Kinj or is The Outpost in danger?

The Outpost keeps getting better and better every week, adding more drama and suspense with each episode. Along with more action, the CW fantasy drama has also added a host of new characters this season.

Falista of Relman, played by Georgia May Foote, is one of the newest additions and one of the most intriguing. She’s beautiful, smart, and powerful but there’s a lot going on beneath the surface.

Falista is cunning and a bit manipulative and willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants, which currently is Tobin. So now that she has the power of the Red Kinj inside her, can she be trusted or is everyone in The Outpost in danger?

Will Falista be a danger to The Outpost?

The Red Kinj, which was previously used by One, was transferred to Falista after the death of Jaaris in The Outpost. Initially, she was not even aware that she had it, and when she had an outburst of temper pain would be inflicted on those around her.

The pain she inflicted was done unconsciously, but the fact that she cannot control the kinj makes Falista a danger to those around her. Once she realized what had happened, she was rightfully scared and terrified of her own power.

After nearly killing Gwynn and Garret, albeit on accident, Falista was sent to the dungeons for the safety of everyone. Janzo attempted to explain kinjes to Falista but that only managed to scare her more so she attempted to pass the kinj to Gwynn after she visited her in the dungeon. Surely the queen should be the one to have this power.

Gwynn was able to resist the temptation of taking the kinj, and she determined that if Falista is so willing to give up her power perhaps she isn’t so power hungry after all. Gwynn releases Falista, and instructs her to find Zed and Talon so they can help her understand her kinj. All hail our wise queen.

Falista is so moved by Gwynn’s wisdom and kindness that she actually bows down to her and releases Tobin from his promise to her so that he can be free to be with Gwynn. Perhaps we’ve all misjudged Falista and maybe she isn’t so bad after all. The seemingly cold-hearted characters who initially are only out for themselves but secretly care for others deep down can be the most interesting. Falista has a lot of potential to be a great character.

Tobin is now free but Gwynn may not even want him anymore after all that has happened, but at least now they have a chance. Tobin’s character has regressed back to the person he was when we first met him, so if he wants to be with Gwynn he’ll have to earn her love again and I look forward to hopefully seeing him try. Or maybe he’ll really fall in love with Falista now that she has released him. Time will tell.

Falista had some major character development within this episode which was fantastic to see. Since her entrance on the show, she was not presented as someone entirely likable, but that could all change now. If Falista truly is determined to understand her kinj and use it for good and to be loyal to both Gwynn and Tobin then she could be the ally they need against Yavalla and The United.

However, as Talon warned her, the previous owners of the Red Kinj all turned out to be quite evil. And Falista has been known to have a temper. If she cannot control her outbursts, or she gives in to the anger and decides to willingly hurt someone, then she could be one of the greatest threats to The Outpost. Especially since Tobin still has affection for her and won’t let anyone hurt her.

If Gwynn and Tobin do eventually reconcile, it will be quite hard for Falista to handle, and her biggest test will be to see if she can maintain her temper. Falista is set to be a major player in the upcoming episodes of the The Outpost and whether she will be their greatest strength or threat remains to be seen.
