With Cobra Kai set to return, here are four bold predictions for Season 3

Are you Team Cobra Kai or Team Miyagi-Do? It’s time to decide as 2021 is starting off with a crane kick as Cobra Kai Season 3 premieres on Jan. 1, 2021. This time, the series has a new home as Cobra Kai will stream on Netflix.

In a world of failed reboots and sequels, Cobra Kai has been one of the lone bright spots to improve upon its source material. Set 34 years after the ordinal Karate KidCobra Kai examines the life of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who’s an alcoholic and down-on-his-luck maintenance man. Johnny mentors and teaches Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueñ) karate, which leads to Johnny reopening Cobra Kai dojo as its sensei and establishing his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio).

Cobra Kai originally aired on YouTube back in 2018. However, the showed announced it was moving to Netflix in June 2020. Netflix released the first two seasons on Aug. 28, 2020, and Cobra Kai instantly became a smash hit, becoming the most-streamed show on Netflix in the month of September 2020.

With new episodes premiering on Jan. 1, here are four bold predictions for Cobra Kai Season 3.

Miguel will fight again

Season 2 ended with a huge cliffhanger. During a huge brawl at school between the students of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do, Robby Keane (Tanner Buchanan) kicked Miguel off a balcony, resulting in a serious injury that left Miguel on life-support.

In the Season 3 trailer, Miguel is alive, but may never walk again. In an exclusive clip, Johnny has made it his mission to train Miguel to walk again.

I will go one step further. Not only will Miguel walk again, but by season’s end, he will fight.

Robby will join Cobra Kai

More from Drama

Because of his actions during the brawl, Robby will face major legal consequences. In the trailer, he appears to be in a juvenile detention center. Robby’s stay won’t be easy as he suffers a few injuries during a fight inside the center.

With Johnny training Miguel and Daniel training Sam (Mary Mouser), Robby is the odd man out. Enter John Kreese (Martin Kove), who visits Robby at the detention center. I predict that Robby will join Cobra Kai once he leaves the detention center.

Johnny will join Miyagi-Do

At the end of Season 2, Johnny relinquished his role of sensei to Cobra Kai and gave it to John Kreese, who played Johnny like a fiddle. Now, Johnny has no dojo and no students. In order to stop Kreese and regain control of his dojo, Johnny must team with his rival, Daniel LaRusso.

I predict this will go one step further as Johnny will officially join Miyagi-Do in an effort to take down Kreese.

Ali will visit Johnny

In the final scene of Season 2, Johnny unknowingly received a Facebook request from Ali Mills Schwarber (Elisabeth Shue). Johnny mentioned that life hasn’t been the same since he broke up with Ali. With many familiar faces returning to the show, Ali will finally make her long-awaited return in the season’s final episode.
