New Netflix shows

  • Korean Pork Belly Rhapsody season 1, Jan. 4
  • Nailed It! Mexico season 3, Jan. 5
  • The History of Swear Words season 1, Jan. 5
  • Surviving Death season 1, Jan. 6
  • Pretend It’s a City season 1, Jan. 8
  • Lupin season 1 Jan. 8

I don’t know about you, but The History of Swear Words is what I look forward to watching the most from this list. Why? One big reason: Nicolas Cage.

Say what you’d like, but Cage is a legend, and I missed watching him on-screen. I love that he took on this project, it shows that he doesn’t take himself too seriously at all! He’s a great sport.

The History of Swear Words has a fun concept, it will feature Nicolas Cage as the host and many celebrity guests explaining where swear words originated from. The point is to prove that “bad” words were never actually bad until we made them so.

Another show not to miss is Lupin, which retells the classic French story of Arsene Lupin, known as a master thief. Because it’s a French story, the series is in French so don’t forget to add subtitles — let’s see how much you remember from high school French (or just watch the dubbed version)!

Any foodies in the house? You’ll want to watch Nailed It! Mexico season 3. It premieres on Jan. 5. Which show from this list seems the most appetizing to you?

Let’s move on to Netflix movies premiering this week…
