British comedian Robert Webb is well known in the world of entertainment for his comedy shows alongside David Mitchell over the years. The two starred in sketch shows back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and the duo’s series That Mitchell and Webb Look even won a BAFTA Award. By 2007, they had released a film called Magicians.

Currently, Webb and Mitchell have been starring alongside each other in the Channel 4 show Back. As reported by the Metro, the 48-year-old Let’s Dance winner recently faced a bit of serious trouble when suffering from heart issues while filming.

According to the publication, Robert Webb was alarmed while going through a standard medical examination for filming to find out that he had a heart murmur. Apparently, the comedian had to act fast if he wanted to get healthy again. He recalled of the scary situation while speaking to The Guardian:

"I saw a cardiologist who basically said, ‘This heart is going to fail in the next two to six months.’ But that didn’t stop me doing a week’s filming. For reasons that I now find inexplicable, I just went to work for a week!"

While it probably wasn’t the smartest idea for Webb to continue filming at that time, he did it anyway. Metro notes that production on Back was able to modify a few scenes in order to avoid any injuries for Webb. He explained in a different interview:

"There is a scene where I’m supposed to be carrying a box up some stairs and the art department made it as light as possible. But I still found that scene the equivalent of doing five normal scenes. I thought, ‘Really I should go home and try not to have a heart attack.’"

Robert Webb now says that he’s quit smoking and drinking, and instead has taken up running. The Guardian reports that the star looks healthier, happier, and overall better since changing his lifestyle.

For those eagerly waiting new episodes of Back, the Channel 4 show is returning on January 21, 2020. We cannot wait to see Webb back in action, and are thankful he was able to catch the heart murmur.
