It’s time for another Canadian drama heading to the U.S. This time it’s a supernatural series that is sure to fill the void for Supernatural, Shadowhunters, and much more. The Trickster series premiere airs tonight on The CW, and here’s how to watch it live.

The series follows a young Indigenous teen, Jared, who is struggling to keep his family on the right track. His mother has an undiagnosed mental health problem and is a drug addict while his dad is constantly unemployed and relies on Jared to pay the bills.

That’s not easy when as a teen he’s just supposed to be focusing on school. Instead, he has an afterschool job and cooks drugs on the side to deal out.

A look at Native American lore on the Trickster series premiere

The show does the initial introduction into the characters, but it also offers an initial look at the Native American lore. More will come throughout the series, but we get just a glimpse at Jared’s hallucinations that hint at something much bigger to come.

The question many will have is what the creature is in the woods. How is that creature connected to Jared?
