Is Clarkeman happening in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 2, Episode 2

When we last saw Zoey and Max on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, they were locking lips in the very last moments of the second season premiere. Talk about the perfect place to leave off if the writers wanted to leave Clarkeman shippers wanting more.

But it’s not as if there aren’t plenty of reasons to believe this is just another baby step on the road to a possible relationship, as opposed to the actual, final moment before Clarkeman becomes canon. Remember when Zoey sang “I’m Yours” to Max? That…didn’t exactly end with Zoey and Max dancing off into the sunset together.

There was also that hilarious and frustrating time when Zoey and Max tried to hook up but kept getting interrupted by heart songs. Max just couldn’t seem to stop himself from thinking all sorts of romantic and flirty thoughts when he thought he was getting his chance with the girl of his dreams.

Normally that would be a good thing…But with Zoey’s gift? Not so much.

What happened after Zoey and Max kissed on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist

That brings us to “Zoey’s Extraordinary Distraction.” It’s probably not an overstatement to say the Clarkeman shippers are incredibly excited to see what will happen with Zoey and Max in this episode.

So far, everything the network has released on this episode is very, very promising. The trailer, which you can watch above, is all about Clarkeman. It even asks the question: “Is Zoey and Max’s Moment Finally Here?” All signs seem to point to yes, so you’ll definitely want to watch Episode 2 live.

Now that it seems like Zoey and Max’s relationship is finally ready to see some action, what else can we expect from the episode? Let’s check out the episode synopsis for some insight:

"Due to Mo and work issues, Zoey’s efforts to spend private time with Max continue to be prevented; a new guest joins the Clarke family when Jenna, who is Emily’s sister, arrives with expectations to help with the baby."

It sounds like life is going to try (and fail at least once, based on that trailer) to get in the way of Clarkeman, which isn’t exactly what anyone is here for. Or, well. Is Simon part of the “work issues,” and if so, does anyone care at this point? Honest question.

Either way, as we learned in the Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist season premiere, life does have a way of carrying on, whether you want it to or not. So, the question will be whether or not Clarkeman is able to ignore all the outside (and internal—still no update on how to avoid heart songs in bed) noise. And if they do succeed, what’s next?

Next. Best of TV 2020: 5 sources of light in a terribly dark year. dark

Here’s hoping nothing stops Zoey and Max from getting their duet on, so to speak. Clarkeman shippers have suffered long enough. In the meantime, maybe it’s time to hop over to Peacock to watch the end of the premiere one more time before the series’s newest installment goes live. Just, for like, science purposes…
