Fans of Saved by the Bell were devastated to hear the news of Dustin Diamond’s recent diagnosis, and now his former co-stars are sending their love and support to the actor.

This week, Entertainment Weekly reported that Diamond was diagnosed with stage four cancer, and is currently being treated with chemotherapy. The 44-year-old star is reportedly being cared for in a hospital in Florida. A rep for the Screech actor shared:

"He’s undergoing chemo so he will be there at least another week and then we will figure out when he gets to come home. By next week, we’ll have a much better understanding of the severity of his condition and what treatments he will need so that he’s comfortable."

And now, as news has spread across the internet, various cast members from the original Saved by the Bell show are reacting. As reported by Yahoo!, Mario Lopez, who memorably played A.C. Slater in the comedy series, took to Instagram to share a few words for his former castmate. You can see his post below.

Kelly Kapowski actress Tiffani Thiessen shared a photo of Dustin Diamond to her Instagram Story (per Yahoo!), tagging the actor and writing, “Thinking of you Dustin.”

At the time of this article, it looks like Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris) Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) have remained quiet on the news of Diamond’s diagnosis. We’re sure they will send their good wishes in due time.

Diamond famously played Samuel ‘Screech’ Powers in every episode of Saved by the Bell from 1989 to 1992, however he did not return for the recent reboot on Peacock. Contrary to his former co-stars, he shied away from the spotlight after his time on the NBC sitcom. He’s scored a handful of parts over the years, but his most famous role is inarguably still that of Screech.

We’re terribly sad to hear of this diagnosis. We’re hoping Dustin Diamond is able to recover, and are thinking of him and his family at this unfortunate time.
