What happened to Sean’s hand and what’s Dorothy’s shocking confession? Breaking down Servant season 2, episode 1 questions.

Servant season 2, episode 1 picks up right where it left off. Please note there are spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched the latest episode of the Apple TV Plus psychological drama.

Leanne has taken off with Jericho, or so Dorothy believes. Sean rushes to hide all evidence that there ever was a child in their home before the police arrive after a panicked Dorothy calls them.

The police are patient, yet puzzled. They listen to Dorothy, but know she’s not in the right state of mind. This is when audiences learn that the police are already aware Jericho is dead.

I do wonder how she got away with it. Her mental breakdown, perhaps? In reality, even though it was a tragic accident, Dorothy would at least be charged with neglect.

Sean, Julian, and Natalie may deny everything and blame Dorothy’s fragile state, but let’s not forget, they had a baptism for Jericho. There were many witnesses. This is why Sean and Julian decide to get the cops out of their hair before they start asking questions around.

It works. For now. But I wouldn’t say they are in the clear just yet!

Leanne “taking Jericho” is the perfect opportunity for Sean and Julian to gently bring Dorothy back to reality and tell her the truth. What better time than now?

Instead, Sean becomes just as determined as Dorothy to find the baby who was living with them. Sean believes the baby boy belongs with them. He wants to find Jericho without involving the cops or any witnesses, though. So, naturally, he recruits Julian.

What else happened in the season 2 premiere of Servant? Let’s break down the rest of the events with questions we need to be answered.

Servant season 2, episode 1 questions

What is happening to Sean’s hand?

Can you say gross? On top of wanting to find Jericho, Sean has another problem. It seems he is no longer able to feel pain in his right hand. His taste is also still missing. Did Leanne leave him with a bigger curse than we thought? If so, why? When (if ever) will it stop? Speaking of which…

Where is Leanne?

Leanne may be gone, but we’re not sure where she’s at. We don’t even know if she left willingly or not, since her “aunt” and “uncle” did stop by asking her to come back with them.

Is Dorothy’s shocking confession Sean’s motivation?

We know Sean misses being a father, we know he may not admit that he grew close with “Jericho,” but another big motivator in getting that mysterious baby back is what Dorothy confessed she would do if she were to learn that Jericho is dead.

Dorothy is in deep, deep denial. In a moment of frustration, Sean asks her what she would do if they learned Jericho was dead. Dorothy doesn’t hesitate to reply that she would follow him. She even tells Sean how she would commit suicide.

This breaks Sean’s heart, you can see it in his face. He truly loves his wife and doesn’t want to lose her, too. He is willing to do whatever it takes.

Why did Julian leave that note?

Julian may appear to always only be looking out for himself, but he cares and loves his family. In order to give Dorothy some sense of hope, he leaves one of Jericho’s shoes in an envelope with a note that reads “Tell no one. Baby lives.”

I do believe Julian also did this so Dorothy will stop talking to the police, though, and not just for her.

Why is Sean giving the Jericho doll a bath?

Uh-oh, is Sean losing it, too? If he is, can we really blame him? He lost a child and has never even been able to grieve his loss because it has all been about Dorothy. Sean is also hurting here.
