Everything we know about Cobra Kai Season 4 so far

Need more from the best movie spin-off series ever? Of course you do! The good news is Cobra Kai Season 4 is officially confirmed.

Netflix renewed the Karate Kid series ahead of the Season 3 released on New Year’s Day. This came off the back of the initial success of the first two seasons, which arrived last summer. Netflix had put so little money into the series (since it was a YouTube Red show) and had seen a huge return on investment. A renewal was only common sense.

So, now we need to know as much as we can about Cobra Kai Season 4. While there isn’t too much yet, you’ll want to bookmark this post. We’ll update it as we get more information.

Cobra Kai Season 4 release date

Let’s start with the release date, which is something we don’t have just yet. Most shows take about 14 months between seasons to allow for all stages of production. Early 2022 would make sense for the fourth season to drop.

But that’s under normal circumstances. The shows are filming during a pandemic. That means extra protocols and extra time to film. We’ll probably need to wait for the season until later in 2022.

Hopefully, it will be 2022!

Cobra Kai Season 4 cast

There’s no need to believe that the main characters won’t return to the series. There is no series without Ralph Macchio and William Zabka as Danny and Johnny. The two have put an end to their 30+ year feud and are joining forces against Martin Kove’s John Kreese.

We can also expect the following to return:

  • Xolo Maridueña as Miguel
  • Tanner Buchanan as Robby
  • Courtney Henggeler as Amanda
  • Mary Mouser as Sam
  • Jacob Bertrand as Hawk
  • Gianni DeCenzo as Demitiri

The other characters are up for a debate. After all, Season 2 saw a few great characters from the first season not appear, while Season 3 saw Nichole Brown not return as Aisha.

Co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz made it clear that this was a creative-only decision and nothing to do with the actress or the character. She may return at a later point in the story.

Cobra Kai Season 4 trailer

There isn’t a trailer available just yet. This isn’t surprising since the fourth season hasn’t even started filming yet. It’s set to start filming sometime in January 2021, but the pandemic could halt those plans.

The trailer for Cobra Kai Season 4 probably won’t come out until about a month before the release date. We’ll update as soon as it’s out.

Cobra Kai Season 4 synopsis

There is a lot to work with off the back of the third season. Robby is now with John Kreese, while Daniel and Johnny have joined their dojos together for training. The two will work together to take down Kreese, but Kreese has called a friend to help. That friend is Terry Silver, who we saw in the third movie.

Expect the third season to see the All Valley Tournament take place. If Kreese’s dojo loses, he’s out, but will he stick to that deal?
