Barbara Evans denies Jenelle’s claims that she regained custody of Jace

Jenelle Evans is getting called out by her mom, it seems. After the Teen Mom 2 alum claimed she regained custody of her son, Jace, Barbara Evans set the record straight, telling TMZ that’s simply not the case.

With Teen Mom 2 now on Netflix, it appears that fans of the series aren’t the only ones rewatching all the Jenelle drama. From the sound of it, the 29-year-old might be tuning in as well and reflecting on some of her past behavior.

On TikTok, the controversial reality star shared videos expressing how far she’s come as a person and stated she’d reclaimed custody of her eldest child from her mother. However, she didn’t say when or how this happened.

In a video, according to TMZ, Jenelle Evans told her following that what we see on the show is the “old,” “young,” and “stupid” Jenelle, adding, “Now let’s not sit here 10 years later and come to my page and hate on me for my mistakes that I learned from.”

After that, Jenelle announced, “I have custody of Jace. He lives with me now full-time.  My [3] kids are happy, they’re healthy. That’s all that f**king matters.” She went on to admit that she gets why people “hate on” her based on her behavior on the show, but said that she’s in a very different place now, and that place includes custody of Jace.

According to Barbara Evans, however, that’s not true. Jenelle’s mom revealed to TMZ that currently, she still has “full custody” of Jace, thanks in big part to “old Jenelle’s” ways and past mistakes during her time on the MTV show. Reportedly, Jenelle continues to only have visitation rights.

Barbara also revealed to TMZ that Jace has been going back and forth as of late, spending more time at Jenelle’s than usual due to the pandemic. The current arrangement allows Jace to spend three to four days out of the week at Jenelle’s house, “in part just so he has a change of scenery.”

Right now, it’s not clear if Jenelle lied to improve her current image amongst the masses or if she was just confused. Barbara Evans told the publication that she called her daughter to address what was said on TikTok.

During their conversation, Jenelle reportedly claimed she “misspoke” and recognizes that Barbara still has full custody. Perhaps her mother is just attempting to help Jenelle avoid more controversy.

As of right now, Jenelle has yet to comment publicly on what she actually meant by what she said on TikTok. And to many, it now sounds like she flat-out lied about this one.
