Calling all horror fans! A24‘s Saint Maud will finally be making its big-screen debut later this month and the buzz surrounding the Rose Glass film continues to grow.

As reported by Deadline, the psychological horror film has already scored an impressive eight nominations from the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, as well as all around favorable reviews. But for those unfamiliar, here’s the premise.

What is Saint Maud about?

Saint Maud follows a new hospice nurse as she becomes “dangerously obsessed” with saving the soul of a dying patient. With dark forces afoot and haunted by flashbacks from her inescapably sinful past, Maud has her life’s work cut out for her, to say the least. Chilling and thrilling, she’s on a mission from God to save souls, stopping at nothing to see things through.

The Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus says Saint Maud is a “brilliantly unsettling blend of body horror and psychological thriller,” marking an “impressive debut” for writer-director Rose Glass. The question is, how do we watch it? And when?

How to watch Saint Maud

According to Deadline, Saint Maud hits theaters on January 29, 2021 with a limited release. For those who aren’t able to go to the movies but are eager to watch this highly buzzed-about horror flick, there’s no need to fret. Deadline also notes that EPIX reportedly “went after the movie strongly for a Pay TV-all platform” in a mega deal with Saint Maud being released on “all platforms” by February 12, 2021.

While streaming dates on Netflix, Hulu, and beyond are yet to be fully confirmed or announced, it does look like this one will be streamable sooner rather than later. With that said, the critically acclaimed horror movie also looks like it’s going to be worth the wait.

So stay tuned for updates as to when this one will hit streaming services for free. For now, you can catch the movie in person at the theater later this month, or from the comfort of your couch in February.
