Is the movie Sightless on Netflix any good?

Madelaine Petsch stars in the Netflix thriller mystery Sightless, but is the movie any good?

With the weekend here, everyone is searching for something new to watch. The twists and mystery in Sightless have been making headlines since the movie’s release on Jan. 20, but should you watch it or skip it?

In Sightless, Madelaine Petsch stars as Ellen Ashland, a famous violinist who is blinded in a seemingly random attack. She’s not sure who is responsible, but has her suspicions. Ellen wakes up in a hospital confused, but is reassured by her caregiver Clayton (Alexander Koch) that everything is fine.

Clayton tells Ellen that her brother has hired him as her caregiver, he will be teaching Ellen how to live blind and help care for her until she’s ready. Clayton seems trustworthy and with Ellen’s best interests in mind, but Ellen begins to grow uncomfortable in her new home.

After more unexplained events and suspicions, Ellen is convinced something is horribly wrong. Cops and doctors don’t believe her, who can she trust?

Should you watch Sightless on Netflix?

The plot is certainly interesting. While not the first movie centering on a newly blind character, the story around Ellen is unique. Petsch does amazing at portraying a helpless, yet stubborn and bitter Ellen. And we say “helpless” lightly, as Ellen does work up the courage and confidence to get to the bottom of things.

That said, Sightless may not be the most cleverly written suspense thriller, but it’s an absolutely entertaining feature! And at only approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes long, how can you not give this movie a chance?

Audiences are able to feel Ellen’s paranoia and will suddenly not be sure what is happening around her. Is Ellen simply going crazy or is something sinister happening around her? You’ll have to watch to find out!

Verdict: Watch it!
