Stella and Severide’s relationship is in trouble on Chicago Fire Season 9. Can they patch things up and make it work again?

Severide is pulling away from Stella for what he thinks are good reasons. He’s heard that some people think Stella is getting special treatment because of her relationship with him. That’s certainly not the case. Boden is a standup guy, but Severide doesn’t want the talk.

The problem is that he hasn’t even spoken to Stella about this. She deserves a say in what he’s doing, especially since it’s her career that is the talk of the firehouses.

At the end of Chicago Fire Season 9, Episode 4, Stella wasn’t at home when Severide got back. Has she moved out or was she just busy training? Either way, things aren’t great for the two of them.

It’s time for Severide to be honest on Chicago Fire

Severide’s heart in the right place. There’s no way I can fault what he thinks he’s doing; it’s the way he’s going about it that’s a problem. Not giving Stella a say in any of this is wrong.

The best way for the two of them to work through this is for Severide to be honest about it all. He needs to tell Stella what he heard and what he is trying to do. Then he needs to listen to Stella about the steps to take next.

Does it really matter what other people are saying? Surely if Stella proves herself, it doesn’t really matter why she was given the shot at lieutenant in the first place. It’s not like she was the only younger person looking to take the lieutenant’s exam.

Stella probably won’t care, but she will finally understand why Severide pulled away from her. Then they can have their heart to heart and make up. This is just a minor problem to get over, as long as Severide learns that he needs to talk to his girlfriend about things in the future.
