Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr) got quite the introduction on last night’s episode of Walker. But by the end of the hour, he was on his way out of town. Is it possible we’ll see him again at some point in Walker Season 1?

Caution: There are spoilers in this post from Walker Season 1, Episode 3.

The most significant storylines featured in Walker‘s third episode, “Bobble Head,” revolved around Walker’s childhood best friend returning to town and Stella’s court hearing for being found in possession of marijuana.

Walker opened with one of its hottest scenes yet to introduce guest star Matt Barr as Hoyt Rawlins, a roguish, charming bad boy with a criminal past and history with the Walker family. While on a stakeout for local gunrunner Toretto, Micki and Walker park outside a strip club where Toretto is posted up inside.

Guess who the night’s headliner is? Hoyt bursts onto the scene shirtless, covered in glitter, wearing a**less chaps and star-spangled briefs. The man knows how to make an entrance.

While people like Micki and Walker’s dad aren’t convinced Hoyt has the best intentions for being in town, Walker and his mom, Abby, have a soft spot for him. Abby took him as a kid, and he was always close to Walker as they grew up together. The Texas ranger thinks he can play Mr. Nice Guy with Hoyt to find out where Toretto is planning her next gun drop.

Micki doesn’t think it’s that simple and even starts calling Walker “Mr. Conflict of Interest.” She’s not wrong to be wary. Hoyt gives both of them the slip by giving them the gun pick-up location and then tipping off Toretto so she can change it at the last second to a new spot. Luckily, Walker and Micki manage to track them down and nab Toretto and Hoyt in the process.

In the episode’s final moments, Micki visits Geri’s bar. Geri and Hoyt once had a romance, although we don’t get many details on what happened between them. Micki tells her that he left behind a keepsake (a plastic ring) for her on his way out of town.

So, it doesn’t sound like he’s facing criminal charges. He also calls Abby to tell her he can’t join her on their planned mushroom hunt because he’s leaving town again.

Is this the last we’ve seen of Hoyt, or could he return in Walker Season 1?

Based on Barr’s IMDb page, this is the only episode that Hoyt is set to appear in for the season thus far. However, IMDb isn’t always accurate, especially if the news hasn’t been released to confirm future guest appearances officially.

Walker Season 1, Episode 3 seems to intentionally leave the door open for Hoyt to return one day. And Barr, who has appeared on countless CW shows over the years (Valor, One Tree Hill, Hellcats, to name a few), seems to have a good rapport with the network, so I don’t imagine it would be a problem for him to come back if the writers think there’s more story to tell.

Considering we didn’t get much closure on Hoyt’s relationships with Geri or Walker, I think there is an excellent possibility he’ll come back. Now, will he back this season? That’s less clear since the bulk of it has already filmed. But the good news is that Walker was recently renewed for Season 2, so surely Hoyt and his striptease will return at some point!
