Kailyn Lowry faces backlash after admitting she didn’t want to pay for an X-ray for son Lincoln’s injured nose

Another one of Kailyn Lowry’s parenting choices is being called into question by fans.

According to The Sun, the Teen Mom 2 star “rushed” her son, Lincoln, to the ER after the seven-year-old suffered a head injury and was “gushing blood” from his nose. Perhaps Kailyn made the incident sound worse initially than it really turned out to be, but she is still being slammed for what happened next. Apparently, she felt it was a serious enough injury to take Lincoln to the hospital, but then didn’t want to pay the X-ray bill.

On her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast, Kailyn Lowry recounted the ordeal while chatting with co-host Vee Rivera. As she explained what went down, the 28-year-old mother seemed unapologetic, explaining that she “didn’t want to pay” for Lincoln’s X-ray, even though Kail wasn’t sure if her son’s nose was broken or not.

On her podcast, Kailyn said the medical professionals explained, “for broken nose it’s hard to tell cause they have so much cartilage,” admitting, “They could do an X-ray but I was like ‘I don’t really want to pay for that’ so he was fine.” She also claimed that her son’s nose stopped bleeding while they were still at the hospital, and Lincoln told her he was no longer in pain. In turn, she concluded he was “fine” and decided to forego further examination. From there, the backlash began.

As noted by The Sun, perturbed fans online said they were “shocked” by Kailyn’s choice,  slamming her for “excessive spending” elsewhere and accusing the reality star of having her priorities mixed up. Many pointed out that the TV personality shelled out a pretty penny for her “dream home” and a brand new SUV recently. Among fans, the general consensus seemed to be that Kailyn makes decent money these days, and not wanting to pay seemed selfish.

Kailyn Lowry’s logic seemed to be that she didn’t find X-rays necessary, even if the doctors did. Justifying her decision, the reality star noted that Lincoln often gets nosebleeds and she only took him to the hospital after going through “an entire roll of paper towels” for the blood. She revealed the amount of blood was “like a literal crime scene,” adding, “I’ve never seen a nose bleed that bad.” Perhaps Kailyn’s own admission is why fans aren’t letting this one go.

Obviously, as Lincoln’s mother, Kailyn Lowry has final say on what’s truly best for her child. Still, many doubted she was putting him first, by her own recounting of events. Those fans still upset with her say there’s “no excuse” for not prioritizing her seven-year-old son’s health, no matter the cost. And it’s not like she can’t afford it.

Kailyn has yet to respond to the backlash.
