Charmed is on the move again. May 2021 will see Charmed Season 3 heading to Friday nights. Is this concerning for the series? Probably not.

Remember a time when a move to Friday nights was a bad thing? If you look at CBS and The CW, that no longer seems to be the case. Even NBC is proving that it’s not longer terrible. And most of that is thanks to streaming services.

Charmed Season 3 is on the move on Friday, May 7, 2021. It’s all thanks to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 6, which will take over the 8/7c timeslot on Sundays with Batwoman moving to an hour later. The aim for the network is to keep the CWverse shows on the same night. Sundays are for LoT and Batwoman while Tuesdays remain the night for The Flash and Superman & Lois.

That means Charmed has to go somewhere, and there aren’t many options in the schedule. Thursdays will remain the Walker/Legacies night and Kung Fu will premiere in Riverdale’s timeslot while that’s on a break (and not returning until July!).

So Charmed needs to move to Fridays. It’s back in the timeslot it had during the second season with Dynasty following in the hour afterward.

Charmed Season 3 move something to worry about?

There’s absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to the future of this supernatural series. The CW already renewed Charmed for a fourth season during the early renewals in early February.

It’s not all too surprising. Sure, the live ratings are down but The CW’s shows always have lower ratings compared to other networks. It also has The CW App where people can watch for free the following day. Those views count for The CW.

The CW also tends to renew its shows after their first seasons. The idea is to get to 100 episodes to gain syndication. Yeah, it’s still a thing, although not as important now that so many shows still go to Netflix.

Just saying, don’t worry about the future of the Vera-Vaughn sisters. Fridays aren’t the death night that they used to be!
