Now married with a set of teenaged twins, the pair soon find their extraordinary life is about to go to yet another level.
After Clark’s mother suddenly dies, the Kents make an unexpected move to Clark’s economically dying hometown of Smallville. And then there are the twins. Jonathan is outgoing and super athletic, which leaves Clark and Lois suspecting he has inherited his dad’s superpowers. Jordan, on the other hand, suffers from social anxiety which keeps his parents worried.
These are the 5 best moments from Superman and Lois Season 1, Episode 1
Watching Superman be Superman
There’s a moment where Lois has trouble retrieving an item from a vending machine located in the break room of the Daily Planet. Hubby Clark simply leans it forward to shake it loose. Moments later, he receives a heartbreaking phone call about his mom. Clark is gone, papers are swirling in the air and Lois is standing dumbfounded. We next see Clark making a landing at his childhood home in Smallville.
The incident
After their grandmother’s funeral, Jonathan and Jordan reconnect with the daughter, Sarah, of Clark’s old flame Lana. Jordan mentions the lack of internet service. Sarah informs them that the router is located inside the barn, a place their dad told them to never go.
They do anyway and when Jordan climbs to the rafter to reset it, he falls, sending a pile of steel poles crashing down on him and his brother. Sarah runs out crying for help. Clark races to the barn and removes one of the poles as if it were a feather and sees his sons are all right.
Jonathan and Jordan are suspicious
“How did Dad pull the poles off of us? He falls whenever he puts up the Christmas tree.” Jonathan is ready to dismiss it, but Jordan is not. Clark always told them to stay away from the barn. Why? Jordan convinces Jonathan to go snooping inside the barn where they make a shocking discovery – a small alien spaceship.
Superman reveals himself to his boys
The boys confront Clark but when he tells them he is Superman, they don’t believe him. That is, not until Clark hands his glasses to Lois and lifts a pickup truck into the air. It looked like poor Jordan didn’t know whether to throw up or pass out.
You would think they would be proud. Instead, they felt they have been lied to and Jordan is feeling a little bitter because naturally the four of them just know Jonathan has to be the chosen one.
Something strange is happening in Smallville
Superman meets a new villain who is bigger than him and enjoys hiding out in places like nuclear plants. While he is flying around the world fighting and chasing after this “stranger,” Jonathan and Jordan on earth getting into a fight of their own, involving a bunch of local boys after Jordan kissed Sarah, not knowing she has a boyfriend. Guess which son has the superpowers. Oh, and that stranger. The villain. He’s referred to as Captain Luthor.
