If you loved shows like Euphoria and We Are Who We Areyou may want to seriously consider watching Generation when it drops. Luckily, the wait for this coming-of-age dramedy won’t be much longer, friends.

Produced by Lena Dunham and created by 18-year-old Zelda Barnz with her father Daniel Barnz, HBO Max’s latest timely teen drama will explore and illuminate the struggles of being a teenager in modern times, told through the eyes of those unwilling to conform, determined and destined to make a change for the better.

Of her decision to collaborate on GenerationGirls creator Lena Dunham told Variety, “I have fallen head over heels for this brilliant family, who have allowed their 18-year old daughter Zelda to express herself in a way that’s both effortlessly funny and plumbs the depths of the adolescent experience.”

Generation is set to premiere this month. So let’s get ready for it while we’ve still got a minute. Shall we?

Generation release date

The first three episodes for this ten-episode series will drop on March 11, 2021. As TV Line notes, all of part 1 will be released by April 1, and part 2 is expected to premiere sometime later this year.  So stay tuned for updates.

Generation cast

Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Nava Mau, Uly Schlesinger, Martha Plimpton, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Chase Sui Wonders, and Justice Smith all take on starring roles in Generation.

Also signing on for key roles in the series are Mary Birdsong, J. August Richards, Alicia Coppola, Sam Trammell, Anthony Kevyan, Sydney Mae Diaz, Patricia De Leon, Diego Josef, and John Ross Bowie.

Generation synopsis

The official description reads:

"A diverse group of high school students whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and all) tests deeply entrenched beliefs about life, love and the nature of family in their conservative community."
