Legacy: Although 2 Broke Girls may not have reached The Bing Bang Theory levels of ubiquity, the fellow CBS sitcom enjoyed a six-season run and second life in syndication. Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs star in 2 Broke Girls as a pair of mismatched best friends with a dream to rise above their constant hustling as diner waitresses to become owners of their own cupcake business.
When multi-millionaire Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) loses her fortune thanks to her father’s Ponzi scheme scandal, she finds herself in Brooklyn by way of Manhattan and living with apathetic working class baker Max Black (Kat Dennings). The series follows the ups and downs of putting in the hard work to make a dream work, complete with an electric ensemble behind the titular twosome.
From the get-go, 2 Broke Girls became known for its boundary-pushing, often offensive humor, though the chemistry between Dennings and Behrs remained the driving forces of the sitcom. This is comfort comedy at its finest, and for six seasons, fans were spoiled with a cast that could sink one-liners faster than Caroline could remind everyone that she used to be rich. Ten years after its premiere, we still believe Max and Caroline deserved a better sendoff.
