New Amsterdam spoilers: Will Kapoor make it through the surgery?
Reynolds is back but will he be able to do seemingly the impossible on New Amsterdam Season 3, Episode 2? Will Kapoor survive the surgery?
It’s a doctor’s worst nightmare. Without the surgery, Kapoor will die. With the surgery, there’s a strong chance he’ll die. There is no right answer here, and Reynolds is going to have to do the best he can in a tough situation.
Chances are that if something goes wrong, Reynolds will look back at what he did and see where he made a mistake. He doesn’t seem all that convinced that Kapoor is even going to survive, and that’s if the surgery can even go ahead.
At one point in the promo for New Amsterdam Season 3, Episode 2, Reynolds tells Max that there’s nothing to sew a valve onto. The heart is so damaged that surgery would likely kill him.
I’ll state that the show better not kill Kapoor. He has been a highlight of the series for so long, and not just used for jokey storylines. He’s the heart of this hospital, and there’s no pun intended there!
Reynolds deals with guilt on New Amsterdam Season 3, Episode 2
While handling the surgery, Reynolds is also going to deal with guilt. New York was hit hard at the start of the pandemic, and that’s something the series is showing.
Throughout the first episode, Max spent time trying to deal with the drug shortage. It turned out that each hospital had something another hospital needed, but nobody was talking to each other. Because of Max, they managed to get the equipment and drugs to the right places, something they should have been doing before.
But how was San Francisco hit? Not as badly as New York, and that’s something Reynolds is going to realize when he gets to New Amsterdam to help Kapoor.
