Ted Lasso is one of the breakout streaming hits of 2020 and was nominated for an Emmy on July 13, 2021. Lucky for us, there are new episodes on the way as Ted Lasso season 2 quickly approaches!
Fans are wondering when the Ted Lasso season 2 release date is on Apple TV Plus. Not only is a second season premiering soon, but Ted Lasso has also been renewed for a third. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming second season.
The first season premiered on Apple TV Plus in August 2020. Unlike Netflix, Apple TV Plus added new episodes weekly, so the first season finished up in November of the same year. Around that time, Apple announced it had renewed Ted Lasso for season 2.
Production on Ted Lasso season 2 started in early 2021 and is set to consist of 10 episodes, and we couldn’t be more excited to watch!

Apple TV Plus has announced that season 2 of the comedy series will premiere on July 23, 2021.
Ted Lasso season 2 cast
Jason Sudeikis will be back as Ted Lasso in season 2, fresh off winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Series, and its recent Emmy nom.
We’re also expecting to see Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Nick Mohammed, and Brendan Hunt to return in the second season of the series.
According to a report from Deadline, Sarah Niles is joining the cast as a series regular in season 2.
I’m sure we’ll see a few more of the familiar faces popping up in season 2. I’m expecting we’ll get to see a few new characters as well.

Apple TV Plus hasn’t shared an official synopsis, but the trailer sums it up! The second season will continue to story of Ted Lasso, “a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.”
