Where is Luther streaming in 2021?

Sometimes, true crime dramas are the only thing that can hit the spot when you’re looking for television to fall into for hours. For those interested in losing time to the ins and outs of a murder case, we have just the show for you. The BBC series Luther.
Starring Idris Elba—the versatile actor who is set to soon star in the highly anticipated Netflix western Concrete Cowboy—Luther takes viewers on a ride that will, at times, have their skin crawling.
But the show isn’t preoccupied with the grotesque, at least not completely. It’s more about the mind. This includes how killers think, what their motives are, as well as how they’re caught. Not to mention the banter and wordplay between the fan-favorite pairing of Luther and Alice (Ruth Wilson) will have you on the edge of your seat.
Luther is all around an excellent show for fans of crime-focused television. So, if you’re in the mood for a trip down to the London underbelly, here’s more on the series and where you can stream the show.
What is Luther about?
The British psychological crime thriller first premiered in 2011. While the show didn’t put Elba on the map for those who knew him from The Wire, it certainly had those not in the know sitting up and paying attention.
Elba plays John Luther, a Detective Chief Inspector for the Serious Crime Unit in London. He’s exceptional at his job, but he’s also emotionally volatile and incapable of stepping back from his work.
His obsession with bringing people to justice has wreaked havoc on his marriage to his wife Zoe (Indira Varma), but it’s also about to put them both in danger thanks to Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson). When Alice becomes taken with the detective, seeing him as the only person capable of keeping up with her, Luther’s already grim life takes an even darker turn.
And that’s just season one. Every subsequent season of Luther sees the titular man battling with his own personal demons as he works to uncover the heinous crimes of his suspects and bring them to justice, whatever that means to him.
Where to watch Luther
All five seasons of Luther are available to stream on HBO Max and Starz. If you’re in need of a crime drama binge, then this series is the show for you.
Though we’ll warn you, once you start it’s going to be very hard to stop because the various rabbit holes Luther goes down for the sake of justice will have you unable to think of anything else.
