Most recently winning in three categories at the NAACP Image award.  Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture, and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture.

Fans are now content or at least we think they are with ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder ending, and now they have something else to look forward to. Not just an actress, Viola is a producer and that talent is going to be showed off in the upcoming pilot for Black Don’t Crack. A saying that’s been around for ages pertaining to black women who are older than they look.  Here’s what we know about the cast so far.

The cast  of Black Don’t Crack is known for comedy

The cast has been confirmed and stars, Sherri Shepard, Essence Atkins, Tisha Campbell, and Tahj Mowry who’ve all dabbled in comedy. The synopsis according to Deadline reads:  Black Don’t Crack (fka Untitled Regina Hicks) follows three former sorority sisters, played by Shepherd, Atkins, and Campbell, who lost touch after college and reunite during a pivotal point in their lives. They realize sometimes it’s okay to crack and when you do, no one will be there for you like your friends.

Shepherd will portray Angela Wright and because of her looks we can’t tell if she’s 45 or 75 because you know “black don’t crack.” After the death of her husband, Angela puts her dreams aside to raise her son.  Tahj Mowry who’s 33 in real life is playing Angela’s 20-year-old son Khalil Grant.

Like most young people this character lives in their mother’s basement and still depends on her to do everything for him including laundry.  Still living in her basement Khalil has big dreams, but after a slow start will he manage to achieve them?

Essence Atkins  and Tisha Campbell are polar opposites

Essence Atkins is playing former fun-loving party girl now bougie conservative Nia Hillis Davis.  She may look perfect, but she’s nothing of the sort. Hiding her pain behind expensive accessories will she be able to go back to her authentic self after meeting up with old friends?

Tisha Campbell will portray Tasha Marks a spunky trend-setting restauranteur. With no filter, sometimes her mouth is a little much for her friends. having a professional life is great, but you know what is also great? Having romance! But this woman is independent, has worked hard to get where she is, and doesn’t feel she needs a man just yet.
