The Riverdale Season 5 midseason finale is upon us, and Betty and Alice’s investigation into Polly’s disappearance — and possible death — takes another twisty turn. In spite of keeping the truth about Polly’s blood match from Alice, Betty’s beau Glen arrived to spill the beans.
But Glen won’t be Betty and Alice’s only surprise visitor in the latest episode of Riverdale. While we’ll have to wait and see who shows up to deliver good, bad, or helpful news to the Coopers, the reality of Polly’s situation and the existence of a serial killer continues to look more and more grim.
Betty’s not the only one entertaining surprise guests, as Archie’s former Army General arrives in town with shocking news to turn his preparations for parent-teacher night on its head. Clearly, Archie has some unfinished business to attend to.
Elsewhere, Cheryl’s the latest sparring partner for Hiram and Reggie when they train their eyes on taking control of the Blossom maple groves. Questionable motives are also going around for Jughead, whose seemingly dangerous writer’s block remedy worries Tabitha.

Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) pushes back after hearing that Hiram (Mark Consuelos) and Reggie (Charles Melton) have expressed interest in taking over the Blossom maple groves. Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) unconventional way to get through a case of writer’s block causes Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) to be concerned for his safety.
