HBO is taking viewers to the small town of Easttown in April. Centered on a murder case involving a child, Mare of Easttown is the upcoming Kate Winslet limited series that’s going to have HBO watchers talking well into the spring.

Slated for seven episodes, the series will be a crime drama that also examines small-town living and both the dangers and joys of a close-knit community. When murder comes to Easttown, it’s not that everyone is a suspect, it’s that the culprit could be someone you’ve known practically your whole life.

How Mare Sheehan, the titular character of the show, navigates the troubled waters of her community will inevitably unearth past hurts and tragedies. Having an outsider like Detective Colin Zabel on the case is sure to make things even more complicated as the two must work together despite operating differently from one another.

If you’re a fan of murder mysteries, Mare of Easttown could be your next TV obsession. Here’s what we know about the limited series and its run on HBO and HBO Max.
