Lexie appears on Meredith’s beach as there’s a ventilator shortage at the hospital on Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 10.

We all know of the big surprise on the beach now. Well, you should do if you watched the promo—and because of the promo, it’s not considered a spoiler.

Lexie is back. She’s likely only going to return for an episode in the way that we got George back earlier in the season, but at least she’s back. Lexie’s death hit the majority of the Grey’s fandom hard, and it certainly hit Meredith hard. Now she gets a chance to catch up with her little sister.

The question Lexie has is whether Meredith is going to stay? Does Lexie want Meredith to stay, or will she encourage Meredith to fight for her life for the sake of her kids?

A ventilator shortage at the hospital on Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 10

Outside of Meredith’s head, we focus on a new shortage at the hospital. Up to now, there has been a focus on the PPE shortage that all hospitals faced at the start of the pandemic. Now, the show is focusing on the ventilator shortage that many hospitals also faced (and still do in some parts of the world).

There aren’t enough ventilators for patients who need it, and it leads to a mother and daughter fighting over the last one. They’re probably putting up a fight against taking the ventilator off the other. I’d be on the mother’s side in this case. The daughter needs it more. Mothers will sacrifice everything for their kids.

While that goes on, we learn a little more about Hayes. His sister-in-law has kidney stones and needs treatment. The problem is she suffers from MS, so is extremely high-risk when it comes to COVID-19.
