Clarice season 2 release date, cast, synopsis, trailer, and more

Those who have always wanted more from the smart and courageous Clarice Starling after the events of The Silence of the Lambs surely perked up their ears when it was announced that CBS would be developing a series for the fictional character. Anthony Hopkins, who played the iconic villain Hannibal Lecter, got to reprise his role for two more films, Hannibal and Red Dragon, though we never saw more from Jodie Foster in the series. Julianne Moore went on to play Clarice in Hannibal, but it was never the same.

The new series, titled Clarice, follows the character after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, and though Hannibal Lecter does not appear anywhere in the show, its fans will say it’s certainly worth watching anyway. Rebecca Breeds plays the titular character in the crime drama, who you might know from shows like The Originals and Pretty Little Liars.

Clarice is still in its premiere season, leaving many more possible cases to solve and drama to follow. But will it get renewed for another installment? Here’s everything we know so far about Clarice season 2.

Clarice season 2 release date

Clarice season 2 has unfortunately not been confirmed yet, but the show hasn’t been cancelled, either. Although CBS did just renew a handful of shows this week, including fan-favorites Blue Bloods and S.W.A.T., the new mystery series was not on that list. Of course, there’s still hope for a second season to come, but for now, we just wait.

The show is currently on a break and is not expected to return until May, so it might be a little while until Clarice season 2 is confirmed. We’ll make sure to keep you updated once we get more information.

Clarice season 2 cast

Of course, the show couldn’t go on without Rebecca Breeds in the leading role of Clarice. Well, it could, but a recasting would be pretty distracting. Apart from the star, we’d likely see the other main cast members, Michael Cudlitz, Lucca De Oliveira, Nick Sandow, and Devyn A. Tyler, in the second installment.

However, with more episodes on the way from the first season, there could be a death of a main character ahead. Who knows? And since Clarice season 2 has not been announced yet, there have been no reports of new characters appearing just yet. As of right now, the possible cast for a second season is hard to predict.

Clarice season 2 synopsis

There is no official synopsis for Clarice season 2 considering another installment hasn’t been announced, however, we can speculate. The premiere season picks up after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, with Clarice still dealing with the trauma that came from her discovery of the serial killer Buffalo Bill. She’s still part of the FBI, and in the beginning of season 1 she joins the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP).

We’d predict a second season would follow Clarice working new cases and possibly on a new team.
