Resident Alien was a breath of fresh air, bringing comedy and sci-fi together. Now it’s time to see what we know about Resident Alien Season 2.

We will start with the great news. Resident Alien Season 2 is happening. The SYFY series was renewed before the first season came to an end.

That’s probably a good thing with the way the first season ended. Could you imagine being left not knowing if Harry was going to get Max back to Earth and what would happen next? We will get answers.

When will we get those answers? It’s time to look at everything we know about Resident Alien Season 2 so far. It’s not a lot, but we will bring updates as they happen.

Resident Alien Season 2 release date

There isn’t a release date set just yet. The second season still needs to film, so it’s going to be a while before we get it.

It took some time to get the first season in the first place. Just to let you know, I’d seen the pilot episode back in October 2019 before going into a press room at NYCC. It took until January 2021 for the season to finally come out.

However, SYFY tends to keep to about a year between seasons unless there are external factors. We could see Resident Alien Season 2 premiere in January 2022.

Resident Alien Season 2 cast

The main cast is sure to return. That means we’ll get:

  • Alan Tudyk as Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle
  • Sara Tomko as Asta Twelvetrees
  • Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike Thompson
  • Alice Wetterlund as D’arcy Bloom
  • Levi Fiehler as Ben Hawthorne
  • Judah Prehn as Max Hawthorne
  • Elizabeth Bowen as Deputy Sheriff Liv Baker
  • Meredith Garretson as Kate Hawthorne
  • Gary Farmer as Dan Twelvetrees
  • Kaylayla Raine as Jay

There were a lot of excellent guest stars throughout the series including Linda Hamilton, Terry O’Quinn, and Nathan Fillion. Yes, Nathan Fillion voiced the octopus in the tank! With some hope, there will be more high-profile guest stars and maybe some of the Firefly cast members popping up?

Resident Alien Season 2 trailer

There isn’t a trailer just yet for the season. That’s not surprising since the season hasn’t even filmed yet.

There was a video of Alan Tudyk talking about Season 2 released after the first season premiere. It’s not much, but it’s something to tide us over.

We’ll be sure to bring the trailer when it is released.

Resident Alien Season 2 synopsis

Like the lack of trailer, there’s also a lack of synopsis. However, we can take a look at where things ended with Season 1 to see what to expect in Season 2.

The last we saw of Harry, he was becoming human. His device would kill him. He initially wanted to take Asta away and allow the rest of the humans to be destroyed. Instead, he opted to take his device to space where it could detonate without killing anyone.

His intention was then to leave for his home planet. However, Max was on board his spaceship, which now means Harry will need to take him back.

A lot of secrets came out on Earth. The government is now after Harry. Is it possible that he can get back to Earth without being taken by the government and tested on?
