Well, when you throw in one of our favorite guest stars from the series’s first season, let’s just say “Zoey’s Extraordinary Girls’ Night” promises to be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Deb (Bernadette Peters) was the friend Maggie (Mary Steenburgen) needed as she was preparing for her husband’s death. But is she going to have the same positive impact on Maggie’s grief process when she returns?
Only time will tell. Let’s just say you’ll love seeing this character again, regardless of whether or not you agree with her methods.

Besides the return of Bernadette Peters, there’s a lot to look forward to in “Zoey’s Extraordinary Girls’ Night.” We ended the previous episode, which was otherwise packed with laughs, with one of the most soul-crushing heart songs ever from Emily (Alice Lee).
Thankfully, rather than dropping such a raw and real experience in favor of moving on to the next “big” thing, the series is putting the focus where it belongs. Be prepared to have your heart ripped out and stomped all over in all the best ways.

"Zoey encounters more than she expects when she tries to help Emily with a problem; Maggie and an old friend reconnect; Max, Simon and Mo bond with one another."
If that last part of the teaser worries you, it probably should. Two out of three of those characters know about Zoey’s ability, but the one who’s actually dating Zoey…doesn’t.
What could possibly go wrong? You’ll have to tune in and find out. Just…don’t say we haven’t warned you, repeatedly, about the multiple ways in which everyone involved in this relationship drama can come out looking terrible.
