Station 19 picks up off the back of the previous episode’s ending. With everyone angry and mourning, Maya gets Dr. Lewis back to help.

The end of the previous episode focused on the murder of George Floyd at the hands of one cop. This episode couldn’t come at a more important time. On April 20, the jury found the cop, Derek Chauvin, guilty of all three charges, including second-degree murder.

We know how it all ends now, but the firefighters of Station 19 are only at the beginning of this long journey that led to the Black Lives Matter protests throughout the summer of 2020. It’s going to be one hell of an emotional episode, so you’ll want to get the Kleenex ready.

Maya knows that her team is grieving. What better way to help them than to bring in a grief counselor? Dr. Diane Lewis, played by the formidable Tracie Thoms, is back to help the firefighters, but it’s not going to be easy. Even she ends up crying in the promo for the episode.

What to expect on Station 19 Season 4, Episode 12

The episode is mostly focused on how each of the characters deal with the murder that happened on TV. Miller made a point at the end of the previous episode that the cop spent more time ending George’s life than he and Andy did in saving one man’s life. It hit home for all of them.

And this comes off the back of previous episodes focused on systemic racism. Miller has been leading a charge against the Seattle PD for the treatment he and others like him have received. Is this going to push him further?

Meanwhile, Vic, Ben, and Sullivan deal with their anger. Jack deals with his sadness and shock. Andy can only be there for her husband. It’s going to be a hard episode to watch.
