Is Supernatural renewed for Season 16?

Supernatural started as a series about two brothers searching for their missing father. It became so much more than that, but will there be more?

Nobody really expected Supernatural to become the show that it is. Back in 2005, this series started as just one show about two brothers searching for their father. Along the way, they would save people, hunt things. They’d do their part in the family business.

Over the years, things adapted. Supporting characters became fan-favorites. There were storylines that connected to people in ways many other shows had failed. This was more than two brothers hunting monsters, but a focus on how family is way more than blood.

And so, there’s no doubt people want more. Will Supernatural Season 16 happen?

Has Supernatural been renewed?

Sadly, the show hasn’t been renewed for another season. However, it wasn’t The CW’s decision to cancel the show. This was a decision by the two leads, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. They wanted to spend more time with their families, and so, they decided after 15 seasons, it was time to bring their series to an end.

Will there be a Season 16 of Supernatural?

There won’t be a 16th season. Ackles, Padalecki, and Misha Collins took to social media while filming the 15th season to explain that it would be their last.

The CW had always said that the series would be renewed as long as the ratings held and the two leads wanted to do it. Once the leads stepped away, there was no series. After all, there have been plenty of attempts to bring spin-offs, but they’ve failed to get season orders.

When does the new season of Supernatural start?

With Season 16 not happening, there is no start date. If the show was going to happen, it would have likely remained sometime in the fall, but that isn’t the case. The series finale aired on Nov. 19, 2020.
