Station 19 Season 5 is officially happening. What do we know about the season? When can we expect it? Here’s what we know so far.

When Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 was confirmed, we got the great news that the spin-off Station 19 was also renewed. Krista Vernoff will remain the showrunner of both series, so we can expect plenty more crossovers between the two. It is fun to see the saves the firefighters make continue through Grey’s Anatomy to see the work the doctors then have to do.

Now is the time to start looking at what to expect in the new season. There aren’t many details just yet, but this is a post that will be updated as more news arrives. You’ll want to bookmark it!

Here’s what we do know about Station 19 Season 5 so far.

Station 19 Season 5 premiere date

We start with a premiere date, which is something we don’t know just yet. ABC looks to be keeping the TV schedule for the 2021–2022 season normal, which suggests a fall start for the firefighter drama. That means we’re looking at the end of September 2021.

This is going to depend on the pandemic. It will also depend on what Vernoff is willing to handle. Station 19 is one of those shows that hasn’t been consistent with its start date, so we’ll be keeping an eye on the plan.

It will likely remain in the Thursday 8/7c timeslot to kick off TGIT. After all, why fix what isn’t broken?

Station 19 Season 5 cast

Right now, it looks like everyone will return for the fifth season. However, anything can happen in the finale. We’ve already lost two original characters over the last four years, and there are constant threats of others being written out.

For now, expect the following to return:

  • Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andrea “Andy” Herrera
  • Jason George as Dr. Benjamin “Ben” Warren, MD
  • Grey Damon as Jack Gibson
  • Barrett Doss as Victoria “Vic” Hughes
  • Jay Hayden as Travis Montgomery
  • Okieriete Onaodowan as Dean Miller
  • Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop
  • Boris Kodjoe as Robert Sullivan

Right now, things are uncertain about Stefania Spampinato as Dr. Carina DeLuca. Carina is currently facing a problem with her visa due to the pandemic. There is hope that this can be solved pretty quickly, especially since it’s a matter of paperwork rather than her being deported due to legal problems.

Station 19 Season 5 trailer

There isn’t a trailer available just yet, which isn’t all that surprising. The season has only just been confirmed, which means the writing hasn’t even been done, let alone the filming. We’ll be sure to bring a trailer as soon as it’s available.

Station 19 Season 5 synopsis

There isn’t an official synopsis just yet. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Station 19 Season 4 finale will end, as that will give us a hint of what’s to come in Season 5. The fourth season has included a bit about systemic racism, which is sure to continue into the fifth season.
