Ever dreamed of going into space? Many have, but most would just leave it as a dream. Homemade Astronauts give us those who want to make it a reality.

This is not about people training to become astronauts. Oh no! Instead of going that route, Homemade Astronauts gives us a look at everyday people who decide to build their own rockets to take them into space.

I want to say that this was included on 9-1-1 in the past. It was definitely one of the first responder/firefighter dramas. Well, it turns out that building rockets in the backyard is a real thing. When you dream, you’ve got to dream big! SpaceX has certainly helped to inspire.

The new series premiered on discovery+ today, and we’ve got a sneak peek of what to expect before you check it out.

Not everyone has a rocket on Homemade Astronauts

One thing that the cold open tells us is that not everyone is going to have a rocket. Some people are building their own spacesuits to be able to fly into space instead. It’s really interesting to see how three different groups of dreamers have very different ways of getting into space.

There is a lot of work that goes into the building of these rockets and spacesuits. They all know just how dangerous this is, too. After all, they’re dealing with rocket fuel, lack of oxygen, and other chemicals. Just one thing can go wrong and it could kill a man.

It doesn’t matter that there’s a high risk of death. These dreams are far too big, and they’ll certainly convince you why they need to reach for the stars.

There are four episodes in total, and you’ll be amazed by the details throughout each one of them. Homemade Astronauts is not a show you want to skip.
