Nurses was one of NBC’s Canadian acquisitions to fill gaps in the pandemic schedule. What do we know about Nurses Season 2 so far?

We start with the reminder that NBC hasn’t confirmed Nurses Season 2 is going to happen yet. It is definitely happening in Canada. The series was picked up for a second season early on during the first, but that doesn’t mean NBC is going to acquire that second season.

It’s hard to say what NBC will decide. The series was the lowest-rated of all NBC shows, but an acquisition costs much less than developing a new scripted show. For the slower summer months, it can be useful to have an acquisition or two. Yet, this series saw a lot of controversy over the final episode.

We’re hopeful that NBC will continue the story. This medical drama focuses on the nurses rather than the doctors, which is something so few medical shows do (The Resident is the closest). So, let’s take a look at what we do know about Nurses Season 2 so far.

Nurses Season 2 premiere date

Without a confirmed acquisition, it’s hard to say when a premiere date could be. And before that, we need to look at when the Canadian premiere will be.

The second season started filming back in March 2020 in Toronto. Then the world shut down. It took a while for Toronto to open back up, although it was a little quicker than places like LA and New York. It’s not clear yet if the season has finished filming or not yet since there is little information about it on the show.

It probably won’t be ready just yet. We’re looking at closer to the end of the year for the second season to premiere on Global TV. We’re then probably looking at summer 2022 for it to come to NBC to fill in the gaps in the slower parts of the schedule.

Nurses Season 2 cast

There’s no reason we won’t see the five main new nurses (although not new anymore) return for Season 2. That means we get:

  • Tiera Skovbye as Grace Knight
  • Natasha Calis as Ashley Collins
  • Jordan Johnson-Hinds as Keon Colby
  • Sandy Sidhu as Nazneen Khan
  • Donald Maclean Jr. as Wolf Burke

We should also see the following return as recurring guest stars, with some hopefully returning more. Who doesn’t love Sinead?

  • Cathy White as Sinead O’Rourke
  • Ryan-James Hatanaka as Dr. Evan Wallace
  • Tristan D. Lalla as Damien Sanders
  • Nicola Correia-Damude as Dr. Vanessa Banks
  • Raymond Ablack as Kabir Pavan
  • Alexandra Ordolis as Caro

Nurses Season 2 trailer

There isn’t a trailer just yet. That’s not surprising since the show probably hasn’t finished filming yet. We’ll be sure to bring the first trailer as soon as it drops.

Nurses Season 2 synopsis

There is already a synopsis for Nurses Season 2, Episode 1. It’s focused on the new nurse manager, Kate Faulkner, in the hospital. Our five favorites are going to have their work cut out for them.

"A hospital is a battlefield, as our 5 favorite nurses attack another season. But there’s a new general in town – nurse manager Kate Faulkner, who’s going to give them all a run for their money."
