Songland Season 3 premiere date, artists, trailer, synopsis, and more

NBC is still to make a decision on Songland Season 3. We’re hoping it’s good news because this is a show that deserves to be on the air.

Songland isn’t just another singing competition. NBC found a way to bring something fresh and exciting. Instead of focusing on singers, it focuses on songwriters. Of course, they perform their songs, but this isn’t to get them a singing contract. It’s about getting their own music out there, tailored for specific artists.

The songwriters get a chance to work with some of the music industry’s best, crafting a song that is perfect for the artist of the episode. We get a chance to see the stages of development of the music.

Because it showcases a different side of the music industry, it’s a show that needs to be renewed. Here’s what we know about Songland Season 3 so far.

Songland Season 3 premiere date

It’s hard to pinpoint a premiere date. The first season was a fall show but it was moved to the spring for the second season. Some of that may have been linked to pandemic programming, but it’s also likely that the lower-than-hoped-for ratings in the first season pushed the show to the spring.

We’re probably looking at it remaining a spring or summer show if it is renewed.

Songland Season 3 artists

We know Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean, and Shane McAnally will likely return as the hosts of the series, the ones who help new songwriters develop their songs in the recording studio.

Who could be the artists looking for songs? This show has offered a variety of performers including H.E.R., Usher, Martina McBride, OneRepublic, and many more. Who knows who could come to the show for the third season.

There isn’t a trailer just yet. That shouldn’t be all too surprising since the series isn’t even confirmed yet. We’ll expect a trailer that tells us who some of the artists are closer to the premiere date.

Songland Season 3 synopsis

The synopsis will likely be the same as the first two seasons. Four undiscovered songwriters will showcase their songs to the panel, including the artist they’ve written the song for. Three will make it to the recording studio, but in the end, only one song will be chosen…well, mostly. There was a case of two songs being chosen during Season 2!
