While there will be some individual storylines taking place throughout the episode, the main focus is going to be on a burst pipe in the ED. These types of emergencies are difficult to plan for, and that’s even with Lauren Bloom’s ability to handle almost anything that comes into her ED.
It doesn’t help that the burst pipe involves chemicals. There’s a huge spill somewhere in the hospital, and a couple of New Amsterdam’s own will end up succumbing to problems because of it. The spill is going to lead to complete vision loss, and it looks like both Lauren and Max are affected.
There’s a moment in the promo that shows Sharpe holding onto Max and crying. Is this going to be the moment that finally brings the two of them together after seasons of will-they-won’t-they? It’s usually some sort of disaster that brings people together, right?
Gwen and Calvin have bad news for Max on New Amsterdam Season 3, Episode 12
If the chemical spill wasn’t bad enough, Max is getting bad news from his parents-in-law. It’s not clear what this bad news is, but there’s a good chance that it’s to do with how they view Max parenting Luna.
Luna has spent the pandemic with her grandparents. It made sense considering Max was working at the hospital around COVID-19 patients, but he wants his daughter back home with him. Part of the problem has been her inability to settle. She’s grown up around her grandparents!
