Jesse Williams isn’t the only person leaving Grey’s Anatomy. There’s another doctor who has checked out of Grey Sloan Memorial.

We all knew Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 15 was Jackson’s big goodbye. It turns out that another actor is leaving the series.

Greg Germann is stepping away from the series. Unlike Williams, he’s not stepping away for good. According to Deadline, he’s stepping down as a series regular, but there is the opportunity for him to return during the next season.

How is Koracick leaving Grey’s Anatomy?

Koracick made the choice to leave Grey Sloan Memorial and ask Jackson for a job. The case of the week made him want to do more as a white doctor. A Native American man came in with a stroke. He’d already suffered from COVID-19, and his granddaughter explained how Native American communities had been among the hardest hit.

At the end of the episode, he explained to Jackson that he had six roommates when he had COVID-19. All of them died, and all of them were people of color. As the only white man, he managed to live, and he wants to do more with that unfair gift.

It’s time for him to step up, and the best way to do that is to work with the Fox Foundation with Jackson. While the two don’t get along, Jackson was moved by the speech and agreed to him joining the foundation.

Koracick isn’t the most liked character, but he has had his moments. This is a guy who is a terrible teacher and has little patience for people, but he does have moments of compassion. He was also a comedic relief for some of the darker moments of Grey’s Anatomy Season 17.

This is similar to Season 10 when Cristina left for Switzerland and Shane Ross asked to go with her.
