NCIS Season 18 Finale: Is [spoiler] really leaving?

Just like that, NCIS Season 18, Episode 16 came quickly. The NCIS Season 18 finale not only gave us a stunning possible revelation about Bishop, but it also continued to go into the case that Gibbs was helping reporter Marcie Warren with. Plus, they threw us for a loop we did not see coming!

At the start of the episode, Bishop, McGee, and Torres were in the middle of a gunfight after an investigation went sideways. They were looking into illegal gun-running but were made by the person running the operation before they could even walk into the room.

When the investigation into the case gets further, they discover a stash house full of weapons and a classified NSA document. In addition to figuring out who their two deceased arms dealers were and who they were associated with, they also need to look into who leaked the file.

This is where Agent Jessica Knight comes in again. Fans may remember her from the last episode, in which the team helped to find out what led to the deaths of her team.

NCIS Season 18 finale could possibly say goodbye to a familiar face

Using some contacts from the NSA, they discover who may have leaked the file thanks to a forensic backtrace. It appears that Bishop herself is a suspect! But did she actually do it?

Through working the case, the team does find their main arms dealer due to a fruit mainly used in Chinese cuisine. But then in a surprising twist, he tells them he doesn’t know anything about the file.

It turns out that Bishop is hiding something. Odette Malone, who is the caretaker of Ziva David’s cabin, has been working with Bishop in preparation for her to leave on an undercover op. She planted the file to lead the agents to believe Bishop had committed espionage. In fact, Torres himself realizes it is most likely a cover.

Bishop refuses to reveal anything, even though Torres had figured it out. He is understandably hurt, knowing that something was brewing between them. Before leaving, she kisses him goodbye.

Is this really goodbye for Eleanor Bishop? She has been with the show since Season 11 and it is hard to believe that we won’t see her again. Who knows how long this undercover op will last. And hopefully, we’ll see something pick back up between her and Torres.

As for Gibbs, his own investigation appears to put him in danger as well. With the serial killer case going further, someone is apparently following him. Not only that, both his house and Marcie’s office were bugged. So who is after them? It’s a question we most certainly have, especially after that cliffhanger!

Until then, we’ll just have to wait anxiously for Season 19 to watch the next chapter.
