The “devastating loss” that the synopsis tells us about is likely a death. The promo for the episode looks to include a funeral at sea, which could connect to the events from the previous episode.

Metal suffered some serious injuries during the previous episode. Clay and Jason helped to save him on the helicopter ride back to the ship, but that doesn’t mean Metal is going to survive. There were some serious injuries that he could succumb to while on the ship.

I seriously hope that isn’t the case, but this is a show that has always remained authentic to the lives of those in the military. The show initially started with Bravo Team losing a brother and that opened the space for Clay to join the team. Considering the injuries Metal sustained, it would make sense for the writers to choose to remain on the devastating side of authenticity.

We’ve already had a few close calls over the seasons. Sonny almost died in the torpedo shoot. Jason and Cerberus were at risk during the SEAL Team Season 4 premiere. We saw Ray captured and almost killed during the season. Eventually, characters can’t just get out of dodge all the time.

Sonny meets his daughter in the SEAL Team Season 4 finale

Speaking of Sonny and Ray, there seem to be a couple of storylines for them. For Sonny, it looks like he’s going to meet his daughter.

The previous episode saw him consider not being in his daughter’s life at all. He thought it would be best for her to just write her a check and then leave her be. We all know that wouldn’t be what’s best, but Sonny doesn’t think he’s a good enough man to be around her. Who will get him to change his mind there? It could be Metal’s death that encourages him to make this change.

Then there’s Ray who frozen while in the middle of an attack. His PTSD is getting to him in the field, and it’s time for him to face it. That will likely come up in the finale.
