4400 release date
4400 will be a part of The CW’s fall 2021 line-up. The show will slide into the Monday slot at 9 p.m. ET on October 25 after the All American season 4 premiere.
4400 cast
The announced cast according to Deadline:
Derrick A. King as Rev Johnson, a man of faith who disappeared in the ’90s. His position as a faith leader due to his upbringing in a wealthy and powerful church family in Chicago has him accustomed to having his voice heard, considered as an authority, and a man whose compassion can be counted on. It’s a trait that will see him become a leader of the 4400.
Khailah Johnson as Ladonna, a spoiled, self-centered party girl and reality TV star from Miami. She’s used to getting what she wants and being taken care of until she disappears on her 21st birthday in 2015. Now, as a part of the 4400, the person she once was begins to fold to make room for the kind of potential she could have never imagined.
Brittany Adebumola as Shanice, an ambitious lawyer whose disappearance in 2005 forced her husband and daughter into a life without her. Now that she’s back, things are rocky between the family as it’s been 16 years for them but not for her. Shanice will become an advocate for the other 4400 as they all seek answers for what happened to them.
Cory Jeacoma as Logan, Shanice’s husband who has raised their daughter on his own in the near 20 years since her disappearance. He’d been a loving and supportive husband to his wife but her return throws him for a loop especially since she hasn’t aged at all.
Jaye Ladymore as Claudette, a woman who was active in the 1950s Civil Rights movement along side her husband who was a preacher. Quick to adjust to her circumstances, Claudette realizes that 2021 offers her an opportunity to be someone different than who she was before. Though that realization is set to surprise her in unexpected ways that will also have consequences.
Amarr Wooten as Hayden, a teen who was institutionalized in the 1930s. He doesn’t speak, most likely from the trauma he’s suffered. Hayden is compassionate, he’s also privy to information that he shouldn’t have knowledge of given his circumstances and yet he does.
TL Thompson as Dr. Andre, a trans doctor from Harlem who disappeared in the 1920s. He struggles with adjusting to the new time period he’s in, but it doesn’t keep the good doctor from treating his fellow 4400. Andre catches onto the reality that he and the others may be considered a threat.
Autumn Best as Mildred, a teen originally from the 1970s. She’s smart, observant, and has no problem leaving her past life behind which sets her apart from many of the 4400 she knows.
Ireon Roach as Keisha, a parole officer who is a part of the government’s response to the newly returned. A stickler for rules and the way things are done, Keisha has concerns regarding the 4400 and the danger they could present to the rest of society. Her personal history involving a past tragedy fuels this concern.
Joseph David-Jones as Jharrel, an empathetic social worker assigned to the 4400 like Keisha. The two often clash due to their differing work styles, ideologies, and beliefs.
4400 synopsis
The description of the series via Deadline:
"Over the last century at least, four thousand four hundred people who were overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized vanished without a trace off the face of the planet. Last night, inexplicably, they were all returned in an instant to Detroit, MI, having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them.As the government races to understand the phenomenon, analyze the potential threat, and contain the story, an empathetic social worker (Joseph David-Jones, “Arrow”) and hardened community corrections officer (Ireon Roach, “Candyman”) are among the civil servants called upon to deal with the uncanny refugees. The new partners clash in ideology and approach, but gradually find they have more in common than they thought as they become familiar with those under their care…These unwilling time travelers, collectively the 4400, must grapple with their impossible new reality, the fact that they’ve been returned with a few…upgrades, and the increasing likelihood that they were brought back now for a reason they’re only beginning to understand."
With a description like this 4400 promises to be an experience similar to Manifest but with its ensemble cast having disappeared in various time periods. It’ll be interesting to see how their period typical ideologies will differ or align with each other and the audience’s perceptions of how they should act depending on when they’re from.
